THE organisers of the 2019 Oldham Business Awards have received what they described as “an overwhelming number” of applications for this year’s awards.
This year has seen a record number of entries for the award categories, which include amongst others Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Supporting Young People and Community Engagement Award.
The organisers said they were not only pleased with the number of entries, but also with the quality. The judges now face a difficult task as they begin the process of shortlisting entrants.
Awards committee chairman Steve Kilroy, said: “We are delighted with the response this year. These awards exist to celebrate the success of local businesses, and we are pleased to see the quantity and quality of so many entries demonstrating the vibrancy of the local economy here in Oldham.
“The hard work now begins in earnest to shortlist the finalists.”
The 2019 awards will be presented at a gala dinner at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham on Friday 26th April and hosted and compered by television presenters Louise Minchen and Caroline Whitmore.
