About the Oldham Business Awards

We are pleased to be entering our 11th year of the Oldham Business Awards.

The aim of the OBA is to celebrate business success whilst also recognising the contribution that businesses make in helping to shape the fabric of our society. The Awards reward businesses excellence amongst companies located within Oldham, whether it be for wealth creation, innovation, inspirational leadership or good practice in people management, skills development or environmental issues.

The Awards not only provide exceptional marketing and profile raising opportunities for the finalists but also provide a unique platform for business networking between companies of all forms and sizes, introducing them to new customers, partners, suppliers and further growth support. Each award is judged against criteria based on the award category description with the event designed to enable any business, regardless of size, form or sector to enter and be judged fairly.

Entry Process & Information

The Oldham Business Awards are open to all business in the Borough of Oldham with 11 different categories available to enter including, Start Up, Business of the Year > £5M and Community Engagement. The entry process is simple and it is ok to enter multiple categories so long as an individual entry form is submitted for each category. All applications are judged by an independent panel made up of an Oldham Business Awards Steering Group Member and the individual Category Sponsor. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, this years event has been suspended, as details become clearer we will update this page accordingly, we thank you for you patience.

When circumstances allow us to return, we will endeavour to follow our normal application process. Following an application submission, you will receive an acknowledgement to confirm that we have received your entry.

 

Applications:  The process opens at a special launch event held in September.

Applications close – late December.

Award Judging  –  Is held during  the following January and February.

Finalists Announcement  –  In March at a special event held locally.

The Event – The Oldham Business Awards Gala Dinner and Award Celebration will take place at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham.
