We’re looking for strong examples of achievement, leadership and improvement, backed up by results and real-world impact. The best entries are those that explain not just what has been achieved, but how and why. Focus on outcomes, be specific, and don’t be afraid to showcase your successes. A thoughtful, well-prepared entry will always rise to the top.”

1. Understanding the Criteria

Before you begin your entry, take time to fully understand the award category and what the judges are specifically looking for. Each category has clear criteria designed to highlight particular achievements, values or outcomes. A strong entry directly addresses these points rather than trying to cover everything your business does. Tailoring your responses to the criteria shows focus, preparation and respect for the judging process.

2. Tell a Compelling Story

The most memorable entries tell a clear and engaging story. Explain where your organisation started, the challenges you faced, the decisions you made and the journey you’ve been on. Judges want to understand the context behind your achievements, not just the end result. Bringing your entry to life with real examples helps demonstrate authenticity and passion, and allows your success to stand out.

3. Be Concise & Clear

Clarity is key. Judges review a large number of entries, so clear structure and concise answers make a significant difference. Avoid jargon, repetition or unnecessary detail. Focus on your strongest achievements and explain them simply and confidently. A well-written, easy-to-follow entry makes it easier for judges to quickly understand your impact and value.

4. Provide Strong Evidence

Great claims need strong evidence. Support your achievements with measurable results such as growth figures, performance improvements, customer feedback, testimonials or key milestones. Evidence helps judges assess impact objectively and fairly. Where possible, show progress over time and clearly link outcomes to the actions you’ve taken. Well-evidenced entries consistently rise to the top.
